There is Something Weird in Santa's Beard
Year 2 and I really enjoyed this book. I hope you do too!
Santa brings joy and gifts to children around the world. He loves snacking on the treats children leave for him on Christmas Eve, but he isn't quite as interested in washing his face and combing his beard.
This year, the result isn't just gross - it grows into something so monstrous that it destroys all the toys in Santa's workshop. Will it become the blob that ate Christmas? Or will the reindeer's secret talent save the day?
Have fun reading this book!

Koala Lou
This week we share a favourite book and author of mine.
As Koala Lou tries to win the gum-tree climbing event at the Bush Olympics, we learn about feelings and finding solutions to problems.
Koala Lou also teaches us that knowing we've done our best is more important than winning.
It's a beautiful story and one I hope you love too.

Anzac Day Stories
Anzac Ted is the beautiful tale of a teddy bear who goes to war. It is told through the eyes of a young boy. It is about his love for his bear who was passed down to him from his grandpa.
This story is about the Anzac spirit, courage, loyalty and love. I hope you enjoy listening to Anzac Ted this week.
Another touching Anzac day story is Anzac Biscuits by Phil Cummings. This story brings together life on the front line with the tenderness of life at home.

The Easter Story
Once, a long time ago, a little donkey was brought to Jesus. The little donkey had never been ridden before, but Jesus spoke gently to him, and soon he stopped being afraid. Jesus climbed onto the donkey's back, and they set off for Jerusalem. . .
I love the words of this book and the shining gold-toned paintings. Author & illustrator Brian Wildsmith creates this stunning book of the greatest story ever told.
I hope you will all love it too as we share it this week.

Song becomes picture book
The answer is yes.
John Schumann, songwriter, poet, singer and musician wrote about the Vietnam War in his song I Was Only 19.
The very talented Craig Smith has illustrated John Schumann’s lyrics to create a moving picture book for children aged 8+, and adults that adore picture books (like me!).
I hope it helps you better understand and reflect on the Vietnam War.
